Hired! By: Tad Wojdyla

For all of you that were holding your breath in suspense, feel free to breathe a collective sigh of relief. It’s official, Title Source has hired me on full time as a graphic designer. I’ve got to be honest, I was a little worried there for awhile. Now that I’m in though, I wanted to list a few things that I’m pretty excited about, so here they are:

5. The Holiday party at the end of the year (from what I hear it’s pretty incredible)
4. Continuing to meet other members of the Title Source family
3. Working on upcoming projects with the rest of the marketing team
2. Title Source moving to Detroit
1. Taking advantage of the Detroit living incentive by moving downtown around the same time

It’s exciting to be part of a growing family full of friendly hard working people. I can tell looking around the office that the people here really care about their work, and always seem to have a good time completing it. My neighbors have even asked me to be a part of their potluck next week, I’m on cookie duty.
I must say, I look forward to the upcoming year and beyond with Title Source. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to get my teeth cleaned with my spiffy new insurance.

Sincerely,
Tad the intern graphic designer

Americans saving by moving in with family

A significant change in residential homes occurred during the recession, as more Americans made the decision to move in with relatives, according to a study from Pew Research Center.

In 2007, the number of Americans living in multi-generational households was 46.5 million. This increased to 51.4 million by the end of the recession, and it could have been a huge financial boost for many of these consumers.

With a lack of a mortgage, or helping pay a mortgage between a group of people, these consumers may have had an easier time getting their finances in order.
Multi-generational homes made up 12 million of more than 113 million dwellings in 2009, the study noted. In addition, 6.9 million of these homes had two generations that were of age to earn income. Another 4.2 million had three or more generations involved.
While the recession forced these figures to increase, it is possible that the curbing of income, as well as many people moving in with their families had a significant impact on the housing market. Though, with recent attempts to improve the market, more consumers may soon be leaving these setups to test the housing waters again.
